ESPN is the world wide leader in sports. It's the first place most people go to check their sports news. The app stores prove it. ESPN is number one on both the App Store and the Play Store in the sports category. Rightfully so. ESPN without a doubt has the best sport content in the world. The problem though lies within the medium with which it is delivered. I want to use the ESPN app, but can never pull myself to it because of the content they just throw in your face. I wanted to redesign the app the way I envision it, so that you see your most important news first. To do that I stripped the app down to the bare bone essentials. Navigation is similar to the iOS 11 stock apps such as Mail and iMessage, and also Spotify. You use the bold text at the top as a menu. You can sort which league you want to see inside that menu. At the bottom you can switch between scores and news. I think the minimal look of the app is really clean. It allows the user to quickly read what's on the screen and not get overwhelmed with content. The modern look of this redesign is also really sharp and would provide a more pleasurable experience than the overloaded UI they have now.
